Here we are, going into the last week of a 12 week Body Transformation Challenge program.

I still can’t believe how fast it went. There was never a day that I dreaded the workout. Sure I wasn’t a huge fan of vertical pull day but it there was never that feeling of I am going to skip today.

I tried to bring back running and it was a fail. I warmed up on the rower, did my normal prep work and set out to see how it would feel. I made it 1.5 miles and my knees were killing me. It was a weird pain so I stopped and walked. I was frustrated and disappointed. I was really hoping to be able to finish the program with running but rowing will have to suffice. It’s just not worth the pain. It also tells me that my gait has likely changed since I am running in new shoes that solved my knee pain last year. So, I do need to do some further investigation and try some new shoes in process.

Two weeks ago the deadlifts were really hard. After leg day, I could feel that I may have overdone it. Although, I didn’t have any issues. Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday all came and I was totally fine. Monday morning I woke up and I could feel my low back in a way i’ve haven’t felt since high school when I strained something running killers. My dogs sleep with us and they had me in a weird position Sunday night and that likely didn’t help anything I had done from deadlifting and running earlier in the week. So, this week, I didn’t deadlift. I was sad to not do it but I didn’t want to risk any further injury. It’s just not worth it. So, I’ve been really paying attention to my form, and making every movement slow and intentional.

Besides Wednesday, the rest of the workouts felt amazing. Ever since I switched off the vertical pulls to chin ups, my workouts have gotten stronger and more confident. I even added 5lbs to my chin-ups today and still hit 53. My presses felt super strong at 60lbs. I’ve always had this goal of being able to press half my body weight in a kettlebell however, have never put in the time to train for it. I am very curious to see what I can press coming off this program and will give it a go after the program is done. I’ll share my results. ;)

Overall this was a great week! I am feeling great! I am happy with my progress and excited to see what week 12 brings. We move into phase 3 of nutrition to prepare for the final workout and pictures and I can’t wait to share the final progress with you all.

Until next week!
