Week 8 of 12 - Body Transformation Program
Sometimes our bodies get used to a style of training and we need to mix it up to get results.
What I’ve realized is that I have 100% neglected my training over the past 6 years. I have tried to put 20 min workouts in my day where I can and that just isn’t enough, especially when your nutrition isn’t great.
I don’t remember the last time I’ve followed a program, like our Body Transformation Challenge. I’ve done daily workouts here and there from my kettlebell guru friend, Pat, but never consistently. Even I need a coach!
The Amazing 12 Program
This program, Amazing 12, fit into my life really well. With the pandemic, my social life slowed, I didn’t have the distractions that I would normally have this summer which has given me the capacity to focus on completing the workouts and following the nutrition (as best as I can).
I was just telling Robin yesterday that I train my shoulders a lot. I use to play a lot competitive tennis that it was important that I kept my shoulders healthy so it has always been a priority to keep them strong and prevent the typical shoulder injuries that come from tennis. With this program, over the past couple weeks I’ve noticed posture is better. I also feel more confident in how I look.
Previously, I had accepted the fact that I was a little softer than I would have liked. I told myself excuses that I didn’t have time to commit to a program with all the teaching I was doing (virtual classes at the beginning we did have to do everything with you and I was exhausted!), accepting that my body was changing as I was getting older and that I will never look like I did in my peak in college while strength training two days a week and playing tennis 6-7 days a week for 2.5 hours a day. I also told myself that I ate a pretty healthy diet. Ha!
Opening our eyes to our fitness levels
I’ve always known this but never really thought I did it too. This program has opened my eyes to the lies I have told myself over the past few years.
We do what is easy and comfortable and what’s routine but I am here to tell you that you don’t have to accept that. You can stop believing all the lies you are telling yourself. The best years are not behind you and if you have the support system around you, it’s so much easier to follow a program and stick with it.
I’ve said this before, it is usually very hard to gain muscle and lose fat at the same time AND so quickly but this program is doing just that. In as little as 12 weeks you can make a difference in the path you are on.
Sure, it takes a commitment but these results are no joke!
You can get off medication, prevent yourself from going on medication, manage your diabetes, manage your cholesterol, lose the bloat and softness in your midsection, lose weight (if that’s your goal), and get amazing arms! The technique in this program ensures that we have total body tension (think like doing TRX how your core works in everything you do) but with barbell training.
If you have been struggling to get the results you want, this is your program! It can change the course of your health, making you feel amazing in your skin and positive about your future.
I didn’t take any pics of me this week so you get to see a pic of Jenna rocking her deadlifts!
We had a tough day on Wednesday this week. Many times we said, “I don’t think I can do this.” I couldn’t have gotten through it without Kristin and Jenna and their encouragement. Jenna and I were lifting 165lb for deadlifts and I was squatting my body weight!
The cardio? Oh the cardio!
I’ve still been rowing instead of running to give my knees another week break but the muscular cardio each day has gotten tough! We are up to 35sec of work for each interval doing 10 rounds x2. Wowza!!!
I can’t believe we are are starting week nine already. We have completed 40 sessions! Only 20 to go.
P.S. Did you know that this program has 60 sessions in 12 weeks? That’s more than some people workout in one year!
