No longer worried about how people see him when we walks into a room. Nick is down over 80lbs and living his best life!

Spring is a time for transformations so we can’t wait to introduce you to our May Member of the Month, Nick B, whose diligence and hard work resulted in his own amazing transformation.

Nick told us that at the start of his journey, he weighed around 310lbs—the highest he had ever been. He was able to drop about 25lbs on his own by simply not consuming as much fast food. It may be simple, but fast food can be a tough habit to break. But despite this initial weight loss, Nick still felt uncomfortable in his body: “my weight became the first thing I thought about in most situations. If I was meeting new people, I would obsess over how I was perceived [and] I didn’t feel comfortable being around friends. I travel for work a lot and I would feel so uncomfortable in my seat. This led to me being tired all the time, avoiding most social situations, and limiting myself in several ways.”

Nick tried “every diet under the sun to lose weight,” including countless gym memberships, supplements, and home workouts [but] nothing really stuck.”

How did Nick find Studio ME?

He lives in the building!

But it wasn’t just convenience that got him through the doors. Nick did some research online and noticed that we focus on customization and tailored approaches to people’s training. He said that “As an ex-athlete, having that kind of specialized plan seemed like exactly what I needed. I had a gym membership when I initially contacted Studio ME, but it might as well have been collecting dust in the corner.”

Right away, Nick came to appreciate how important having a community and accountability is to our success: “Playing football in college meant that I was used to rigorous and structured workouts, but going at it alone proved tougher than I could have imagined.”

Don’t go it alone!

And while he joined with the initial goal of weight loss, he quickly realized that he needed to focus on his poor habits. Looking back, Nick believes that “the top 2 things that kept me from achieving my goal was a lack of consistency and poor eating habits.” After joining Studio ME, he was determined to “solve the problem that [his] poor habits had created.” So, he changed how he moved and what he put into his body “knowing (hoping) that weight loss would follow.”

And he was right! Since joining Studio ME, Nick has lost over 60lbs! But more importantly, Nick has “completely changed [his] eating habits and have consistently participated in a workout plan that gives [him] functional strength.”

Nick credits the variety of programs he has participated in at Studio ME: the amazing work he does with his coach, Billy; the 12-Week Nutrition Program coached by owner Megan; and the ME12 Transformation Program.

When he first joined, Nick still felt that he “did not have a good self-image” and this led to a lack of confidence and lowered his drive to go out and try new things.

But now?

“I am so excited for my future, and how I feel, and how I see my body. I am now motivated to work out even more and see just what I am capable of.”

While Nick gets the majority of the credit for his transformation, our method and team helped set him up for success: “The best part about working with the Studio ME team is the amount of personal attention that they put into your success. Every single trainer I worked with at Studio ME created a safe, fun, and hard-working environment that set me up for success.”

Nick, what would you say to anyone interested in starting their journey with Studio ME?

“To anyone who is looking to start their fitness journey, I know how daunting it can be to stand at the base of that mountain. It feels like your goal is so far away, and you wonder how you could ever achieve it. But the only way that you can get there is by taking that first step, and when you look back on the progress you WILL make, you’ll be happy you did.”
