If I can do it, so can you! A busy mom and her story to find herself again.

Meet Dana! Dana first came to us looking to feel herself again after having two babies. Her body didn’t feel like her’s. Her energy levels were down, and she didn’t make time for herself. She knew she needed to change and her husband was on board.

Dana started out with about 6 months of semi-private training with us which was a great start to ease back into a program. She has a rod in her back and has some limitations but that didn’t stop us. After about 6 months she was feeling ready to take the the next step.

First week of ME12- 12 week Transformation Program

“When I was considering ME12 I was 15 months postpartum with my 2nd baby. I had just ended our breastfeeding journey and felt like I was getting my body ‘back’ finally. Except it didn’t feel like my body at all. It was still the kids’ - I’m one of those moms who gained a really obvious belly and never lost more than 1/3 of it after delivery. 

So I wanted to really jump start a new phase of putting myself and my body back at the center of my day. My goal was to build up my ab muscles again (I had a big ab separation of about 6cm) and relearn what foods felt good to eat after years of pregnancy/breastfeeding and feeling constantly hungry.

 

I was SCARED. This was a huge leap for me and my family. Going from the kids’ sleep schedules dictating mine to no matter how well the kids slept, having a commitment to be somewhere at 6:30 every morning for 3 months! Moms with little ones know how terrifying that is :) My husband and I had to have multiple conversations to make sure he was willing to take on the bulk of morning kid duties and I had to convince myself that I wasn’t hurting my family by prioritizing myself in this way - the mom guilt was thick.

 

It took me 4 or 5 weeks to really start believing I’d made the right choice. I started feeling consistently so much better and so much lighter. I felt like I was stronger for my family and kicking my butt out of bed would always result in me feeling more awake and ready for the day than sleeping in. But that was still the hardest part! Waking up and the food - on the weekends keeping up with serving kids food AND keeping to a good nutrition plan for me was really really hard. But I kept Megan in the loop and she always helped me troubleshoot to make it work.

 The best part - getting comfortable in the gym and proving to myself in the numbers that I could kick butt and make gains. In only 12 weeks I fit into pants from after my first pregnancy and lost 2 inches of baby belly. My ab separation is clearly getting slowly healed and I am just SO much stronger - which makes picking up toddlers even easier! 

If you’re intrigued by the idea of ME12 - that means you should do it :) it’s worth it. Hard - but so so worth it!“
