Get Fit. Give Back.

November 19th we kicked off a monthly charity class program.  Our fabulous instructor, Liz, taught an hour long Yoga Barre class. All proceeds were donated to the Mercy Corps for Syrian Relief.  we have such an amazing and giving community at Studio ME. We had 12 people attend class and raised $300 for this charity. This is just the start of this program as we hope to continue to partner with local charities and make a difference one workout at a time.

2nd Annual Row-A-Thon on May 14th

It’s that time of year again.  Studio ME is hosting it’s second Row-A-Thon to help Team Hop Wheels raise money for Multiple Sclerosis.  I personally have been doing the MS150 mile bike ride for five years in honor of my mother-in-law who was diagnosed about 10 years ago.  Each year I ride for her and raise money to help find a cure for this devastating disease.

What is a Row-A-Thon?  Last year Studio ME wanted to help Team Hop Wheels, which Siri and I are apart of, so we started a Row-A-Thon.  It turned out better than expected! We raised over $500 and had a ton of fun in the process.  We had four teams, one of which was a one man show, and they rotated between their teammates to see how many meters they could row in 3 hours. Of course, in Studio ME style, we had prizes along the way, snacks and each participant received a t-shirt. It was definitly a challenge of endurance and strength.

We hope this year to get even more participation and raise even more money for Multiple Sclerosis. So grab some friends or family members and sign up today. Event takes place on May 14th from 9-12N. Check in starts at 8:30am where we will go over the rules and get everyone set up. The cost to participate is $50.  All proceeds go towards Team Hop Wheels fundraising goals. Join us March 19th for some fun! We will have TROO, MN Brewery Running Series, Origin Meals, and Thai Yoga Bodywork. Stop by, say hi, grab some snacks, try some brews and relax with a little massage.

What is troo?

Rachel, owner of troo products, has created a skincare, home remedies, and essential oil blends line.  All of her products are handmade using certified organic, wild harvested, and/or responsibly grown materials.  They are “troo” to their label, nothing hidden; everything in them serves a purpose-no fillers. Try all of our products- cash & carry will be available for many as well.

Rachel will be hosting biofeedback scans as well as selling her products.  For $60, you will receive your scan, a custom oil blend, and a detailed report. The scan will take 20 minutes. The results of the scan will point out exactly which specific chakras & body systems need nourishing and support. Your custom oil blend will be mixed based on your specific needs.  You must sign up for your scan ahead of time.  Time slots are every 20 minutes starting at 1pm. Email megan@studiomefitness.com to reserve your spot. Payment will be made directly to Rachel on site at the event.

Learn and sign up for their 5k runs throughout the year and sample some yummy local brews! We can even plan a run that we all do together.

 

Origin Meals

Origin Meals is a local company that provides gluten-free, dairy free and locally made meals delivered to Studio ME for you to pickup. I can speak personally about the quality and taste of these meals. They are fantastic! I have tried all of their meal options, breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They are great for the busy person and help keep you on track with your health and fitness. Diet is so important especially when you are working out. Origin meals is a great compliment to your workout routines. Try it out today!

 

Thai Yoga Bodywork

I can’t talk up Siri’s work enough. She is a fantastic bodyworker.  She can help alleviate chronic pain and open up your body.  What is Thai Bodywork? It combines rhythmic massage, assisted Yoga poses, acupressure along energy work.  Siri will be giving free 15 minute sessions. Come try it out!

Rowing Challenge Update

Studio ME members are amazing! As a crew they have rowed over 1 million meters (just under 700 miles) and are going strong to bring in our last week of the rowing challenge. A few are on track to take down our previous record of over 119,000 meters. Keep up the great work crew and let’s finish the last week strong to bring the new year in right.

Week 3 Update Rowing Challenge

History

Twice a year Studio ME hosts a rowing challenge from December 1st-31st where members can record their total meters for each rowing class. This is our third challenge and by far the most meters we have rowed as a studio.

Why rowing?

Rowing works 84% of the muscles in the body with each pull. That is insane! It truly is a total body workout and a must add to your workout routine. Members are saying

 My legs are so much stronger.

I have improved my times when I run.  It is a great cross-training workout.

Studio ME is partnering with Athleta!

Studio ME is partnering with Athleta for their event, Refresh. Revive. Remix. Get Fit at Rosedale on Saturday, January 24th. We will be hosting two classes – Shockwave at 12:00pm and Yoga at 2:00pm.
